It was in a party with some familiar faces...3 men were naked in a line, fucking backward one by one, and everyone around looked normal...some people invited me into a room, with kind of similar acting going on, I was shy to join...Then a pretty young girl with red skirt was standing by a river, asking me to make a knot with the string around her neck...I tried several times, either too tight, or too loose, or not beautiful enough...with an intimate and aroused feeling...she then wanted to drag me into the river with the string on my hand...until I refused when the water reached my shoes...she swam into the river, reciting"Lang Zi Hui Tou Jin Bu Huan", I tried to remember the second sentences but didn't succeed, she then said"*******" and disappeared in the water...I became anxious and started running along the bank to look for her in the river, until at one moment I jumped into the river with clothes on...I swam along the river backward, but didn't find her, then went on the bank, I found I lost my key in the hand, but impossible to find it in the river...and kept on walking along the street...it's a business street with crowded people, I walked and walked, it's getting dark, I was on the way back, sitting in a bar eating, a tourist car passed and a guy on the car said, "look, gay bar", then I noticed the customers in front of me were men in pairs...then I remembered forgetting something on the way, and went back...it's darker and darker, I ended up in a cliff, cannot find a way going down, shocking to wake up...

I was with my brother and V, we were on trees, walking fast on branches while trying to make a balance...It's kind of fun, maybe a little bored game...it might be winter because the branches were clean without any leaves...

We were bicycling, I was with V, trying to flee or playing some game? We passed by some cliffs in a moment and I was driving out of the road into the sky, luckily caught up a willow tree branch...it was a very big tree, holding the branch was like flying the swing, from one branch to another, like a monkey, it's not frighting but amusing...later we were on the road again...V was the driver at some moment, and we jumped on the road with lots of fun...there were other friends and familiar faces, but none remembered while waking up...there were quite a lot of dreams recently that I was depressed with back and slow progress of my career, it's such a heavy load that I felt no way to go on except disappear in the world, it seems I was incapable of anything, no worth in the world though I was once so confident...however when wake up, I become strong and optimistic again, with soprano singing and sunshine...

Dream No. 22

It was quite a lot of old friends, meeting in one moment from different times and countries...Italians, Portuguese, German, Chinese...years after my leaving Europe, now I feel bad with my career, looking others growing up, they are happy with their progress, and showing politeness to me made me feel even worse...what can I do with this useless 6 years? A wrong decision obviously in the beginning I didn't follow my heart...time to change and try something new...

I was eating in an Chinese restaurant, with rice and some fried pork/vegetable; a girl in the other table was eating fish, even though I couldn't see her face, I can see her finger with fish bones...I was calling V...then another scene, I walled out of house with my mam, yellow wind taking sands all over the sky, some storm is approaching...like the end of the world...then some truck with military soldiers came the way to us, my mam told me to face the wall with hands up, waiting for them to approach, then the soldiers shot us with gun from the back of our heads...so nervous, but nobody fell down yet, then I woke up...

A lot of rats were smudging around on the floor, yes, house rats, I felt chilly while walking on them...it was a house on top of the building, with open door to the roof...I don't know they are something good or evil, to kill us or to be killed by us...I found lots of birds on the tree while walking on the street this morning, don't know if there is any connection...the end of the world is coming?

Dream No.19

I was to go to bed taking off my clothes, when someone was coming. So I got up again and found out it was V's father, more than 6 feet tall with white hair wearing Chinese clothes, he looked younger than expected...then V busied to prepare some food for him, I was to meet him formally but no words came out yet...My father also appeared in another scene, with calm and handsome face, he looked the same as stayed in my memory 20 years ago. He was visiting us too, asking how to go to a house of Pushkin, saying that it costs 300 RUB for the entrance fee...I told him it's about 3 yuan RMB. I later found out the rate today is:

I was with V at home in China...my father is still alive, he showed us a historical building of his family's. It's an old European style mansion, with orange outlooks, said to once belong to my No.4 grandfather's father, a famous scholar on agriculture, who once studied in Japan...then we traveled to some place and there was a gang crash later...I got a revised figure from my boss for my paper, it's a tree with neurospheres decorated as flowers and higher magnification neurospheres as flower stands, which is very beautiful...

I was sitting in a open couch, when it suddenly rose up to the air...higher and higher that I try to hold the edge to stay on it...then I saw the view of the downward city, it's beautiful and and tiny...I was safely transmitted to a station and seems I am a traveler, past by a pool, thinking of swimming but something was wrong and I have to leave...

I was in a anxiety of exam or something like exam, it will happen in an hour, but I was not ready yet. The exam include an paper one, oral one and practice one...reminds me three steps of the USMLE. I ran around a building to find the right room for toilet or something else...not an end...

An old friend came to visit me, a girl that I loved at 18, but shy to speak out, though I did write vague letters, and changed my heart later when I was in college. That girl came into my mind again in this dream, she left a notebook accidently and I went to visit some place with my cousin, ended with some lunch in a small restaurant, there are some food like pasta ans lasagna. I only took pasta, which cost me $1.7, otherwise would be $30, because accidently I didn't eat lasagna...V called me once during the trip, she was busy on photography.

Dream No.8

It was a horror and scientific one...I saw some organized murder in hospital, a group of doctors anesthetized a guy secretly and then cut him open in the breast, and took some organs, then did dialysis and blood transfusion, at the end, he might die of the accident...I was home with landlord, she borrowed something started with windows/machitosh exchange, then came out with something used in the hospital, it happened to be tainted with blood, and I seemed to know the murder but didn't want to tell. Am I one of them? The dream may originated from last night's call with my mother, she told me my aunt just got operation of deep vein thromosis from hemolytic anemia, and needed blood transfusion even it's dangious.

I was walking alone one day and saw 3 guys fighting, they threw themselves down a hill and suddenly one guy took off the other's whole ear, though no blood...I was scared and walked on. The vicious guy was hailed by the other guy who was not injured...they then just walked behind me, some feet away, I was even scared even there were others on the road. And I pretended to call V, since she hadn't answered me for a while. Suddenly my phone was hit off my hand by the vicious guy; and luckily he went on to intimate with a girl came by, who seemed to be his friend...then I woke up by the pressure in my bladder and burning stomache...It was 5 am, and I typed down in case forgetting in the morning.

I was with V in an old house, like a museum. It's kind of simple room of Japanese style, with curtain of beads. The housekeeper was an old woman, juat sitiing outside talking to someone. V lie on the Tatami and I was sitting bescide....Then we flew away to another place...It started flashing and raining...

Stem cells

I've been following the research of stem cell since 1997, though I still work with some neural stem cells , I didn't have chance to work in the top labs in the world. The idea is first heated in 1990's when embryonic stem cells were cultured from mouse, and famous Dolly was born....then from the application purpose of treating diseases with stem cell transplantation, and ethical conficts of using human embryo, scientists are thinking of using cells from patient itself and easily disected and enriched in large numbers, to reverse the cell fate from aging to young...for the last decades, there has been a great leap in this area, especially the success of Japanese scientist Shinya Yamanaka, who turned the human skin cells from patient into embryoic stem cells by introducing 4 genes into the cell. This solve the key problem of stem cell therapy....though it's still far from the final application in clinic, this will make the stem cell research hotter and hotter. There are several papers come out from Nature and Science recently, and authors are all from Harvard, they are doing the same thing, but it seems more practical, such as making stem cell line with skin cells from DS patients; inducing pancreatic beta cells from glands cells....and the mile stones are mapped and the leading scientists are remembered...

And her husband was there too, they invited me for a stay, while her husband showed me some tricks with his table.
